The Minnesota Frost is one of the six charter franchises making up a new women's professional hockey league. Starting in 2024, the team represented one of three U.S. teams in the league. Three other teams are based in Canada. The Frost finished the 2024 season with an overall record of eight regulation wins, four overtime wins, three overtime losses, and nine regulation losses. The team took fourth place and made it to the playoffs. From there, the team went on to win the Walter Cup Championship. Grace Zumwinkle was named Rookie of the Year at the season's close. Zumwinkle played her college career for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Ken Klee is the team's head coach.
