Additional Indiana Pacers Info
The Indiana Pacers had a 2018-2019 season that was pretty much what the experts expected of them. They finished the regular season 48-34, good for the 5th seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. In round one of the playoffs, they were promptly swept out by the Boston Celtics, who finished just one game ahead of them in the standings. One might ask if the seeds were flipped, would Indiana have had a real chance? The answer is simply no. They were swept out by a far superior team and having home-court advantage would not have mattered that much. They might have won a game, the keyword being “might.” Before the draft, the Pacers acquired point guard Malcolm Brogdon for a future first-round draft choice. They kept their 2019 first-round draft choice, 18th overall, and they used it on center Goga Bitazde from the country of Georgia. In free agency, they added shooting guard Jeremy Lamb, point guard T.J. McConnell and small forward Justin Holiday. All of these men are welcome additions around their star duo of center Myles Turner and shooting guard Victor Oladipo. The Pacers should be improved this season as a result of these moves. How much though remains to be seen. Probably not enough to put them into the same category as the Bucks though.
