The Verizon Wireless Center is a 5,280-seat multi-purpose arena in Mankato, Minnesota. The Verizon Wireless Center was built in 1995 and is located at 1 Civic Center Plaza in Mankato.
Not only does the Verizon Wireless Center home to big-name musical performances and events in the Mankato area, but it serves as the home to the Minnesota State University Mavericks hockey team.
Notable events recently held at the Verizon Wireless Center include: Kiss, Disturbed, Three Days Grace, Bob Dylan, Jason Aldean and Disney Live.
The Verizon Wireless Center continues to be the home ice of the Minnesota State University Mavericks, a team that could compete with the Minnesota Gophers. Summer 2007 includes an appearance by Gear Daddies as part of the annual Hickory Street Mankato Ribfest. Although there is a lack of parking due to the 2007 construction of a new hotel that is to connect to the Civic Center, the Verizon Wireless Center should be the location of many great future Mankato-area events.
