Twins History

The Twins won the World Series in 1991. In that series, the team took on the Braves. Atlanta won three of four games, but Minnesota managed to win game number seven. Leading up to the World Series victory, the Twins had an outstanding regular season with pitching aces Kevin Tapani and Scott Ericson. Their ALCS opponent was the Toronto Blue Jays. Minnesota won that series in five games. Their National League, World Series opponent was the Atlanta Braves. Baseball historians put the 1991 World Series up as one of the best in history. It took seven games for the Minnesota Twins to win the series, and game number seven went ten innings before Minnesota scored the series-winning run.

The Twins last won their division in 2020. They also took the division title in 2019, 2010, and 2009. The team has won the pennant six times, and World Series on three occasions.

In 2022, the Twins took third place in the AL Central Division. Their final record was 78-84 and they looked to 2023 for improvement. Rocco Baldelli is in his fifth year as head coach of the team. In 2019, he was manager of the year after the Twins went 101-61 for the season. Since that time, the team has not had a winning season.

In 2023, the Twins took the American League Central division title. Their 87-75 record meant that they had a Wild Card round to start the MLB playoffs. The team defeated the Blue Jays in two games. They would go on to face the Astros in a five-game series. Minnesota won game two of the series, but the Astros took the series in just four games.

The Twins 2024 roster includes players such as Kyle Farmer, Carlos Correa, Willi Castro, Carlos Santana, and Jose Miranda. The pitching roster includes Matt Canterino, Brent Headrick, Kody Funderburk, Griffin Jax, Pablo Lopez, Joe Ryan, and more.
